- Los Alamos - Mesa del Norte Apartments
Mesa del Norte Apartments is a 36-unit acquisition/rehab of an affordable apartment community located at 650 San Ildefonso Rd. Los Alamos, NM 87544 . The community will serve households at 30%, 50% and 60% of Area Median Incomes (AMI). Twenty percent (8 units) of the property will be set-aside for special needs residents. The property consists of 4 one-bedroom units, 24 two-bedroom units, 8 three-bedroom units, as well as a community building. The unit mix will not change as part of the renovation but an additional ADA compliant unit will be added to the property. Since there are many children living at Mesa del Norte, a focus of the renovation will be to provide appropriate common area recreational and educational amenities for that population. The community building is being reconfigured to provide usable space for the provision of social services and community activities. Enterprise Green Communities Green Criteria will be used in order to keep the site sustainable and keep the property healthy for residents. Renovation is anticipated to begin in November 2012.
